Pinball Gamers: Which game is better....Monopoly by Stearns or World Cup by Bally.?

Looking to make a Christmas purchase for home play and have not played or seen them in person. Both are used which seems the way to go and both offered from a place within service area but too far to drive to just pop in. Monopoly is $3500 and Soccer is $2500. If both are decent I will opt for the cheaper one. Boys are 10, 12 and 15 years old.

Stern (not "Stearns") is still in business, which can't be said for Bally. Bally was a separate company long ago, which was bought by Williams, and Williams got out of the pinball business altogether almost exactly a decade ago -- now they just make slot machines.

So availability of parts for Monopoly will probably be a little better than for World Cup, but I doubt that it would be enough of an issue to justify another thousand dollars.

Your boys will enjoy either one; if they are big soccer fans then that's the machine to get. Likewise if they are rabid Monopoly players, go for that machine.

That being said though: Those prices are high. Monopoly is 8 years old. World Cup Soccer is almost 16 years old. Believe it or not, you can buy NEW Stern pinball machines on Amazon.com -- no sales tax, and free shipping -- for prices starting around $4000.
