Defensive Tips for Hockey? were should i be aiming wen I nak the ball off the boards?

Hey
I play ball hockey in a leauge and I have a few questions regarddng playing defence. my forwards are very lazy and they never come back to help. my questions is if I have no wingers open what should i do should I just get it out of the zone, im afirad if i hit it off the boards hard it will be icing. lsecondly on a shoot in I am the left D and the ball goes all the way around and i get it am I just suppose to bank it off the boards or look for an open guy? Lastly on a power play can anyone give me some tips ppl on my team are morons and they never run but i work hard. i make mistakes but i wanna learn from them. On a power play should i dump the puck in or shoot it on net im not sure wat to do. also in ball hockey the ball bounces alot and wen i make an outlet pass the ball is gonna bounce becuzase iif it stay s on the ground itll get picked off wat kinda psses should i be making becuase sometimes when i pass it to my forwards they have the ball bounc over their stick.

If your forwards are staying beyond the blue line, they're doing their job. It's up to you and your defense partner to clear the ball out.

It's okay to clear it off the boards. The angle and the speed should slow the ball down enough for your forwards to get it before the icing (disregard if your league doesn't like two-line passes).

On your PP is a poker question: it all depends on the situation. If you feel your forward is open and can take the shot, by all means, pass it. If you feel that they're not open enough to even take a pass, shoot it. If neither, pass it to your defense partner and reset. There are a lot more scenarios, so....go with your gut instinct, I guess.
