Should I use a card board box to ship a gator plastic case?

I sold a lighting console that has a hard plastic travel case for it should i look for a card board box to ship this item in or should i just paste a label on it an ship it in the plastic case?

You can't ship an item in a SOFTER material than the original item! So, if you're shipping a plastic case, you need to pack it in something HARDER than plastic...like glass.
